My journal/sketch book lazily lay blank staring at me until....
Inspired at a local meeting of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) http://www.saqa.com/, seeing how fellow art quilters Deborah Boschert, Diane Doran, and Karen Schulz evolve their ideas and refine plans as they go from journal to art, I knew had to put this tool to work
So I gave myself permission to journal however I want - not only sketches - but words and images! ideas and plans! manhole covers and candy! unicorns and glitter! yes, I watch too much tv, but you gotta love Flo!!!
Color scheme emerged serendipitously
yes I really did use a 15 letter word, am I being supercilious?
I'd rather be super silly!!!
"I see circles ... All the time. They're everywhere", kinda like the Sixth Sense, but different totally different!
Circles, my latest delight!!!
- simple - 1 line
- eternal - beginning and ending and beginning again
- moves you - remember "the wheels on the bus, go round and round"
- embrace you (XXOO!!!)
- this simple shape opens my eyes to the world, how many circles do you see?
the O shape
- starts off options, opportunities and oasis
- found in the middle of love, mom, now, more, wow
- ends our greetings of Hello and Mahalo!
- needed twice in good, food and cool
"To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour."
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour."
William Blake
